CCM Airlines orders 6 ATR 72-500 aircraft

Toulouse, 14 June 2005

CCM Airlines has signed a contract for 6 new ATR 72-500 aircraft. With this order unveiled on the occasion of a press conference held today at the Paris Air Show, the Corsican regional airline will renew its fleet of ATR 72-200s with new-generation ATR aircraft.

The total value of the contract is over US $100M.

These ATR 72-500s will be the first ATR 72 aircraft of the –500 series new generation to be operated in the frame of a partnership between Air France-KLM and CCM Airlines. They will fly essentially to Marseilles, Nice and Lyons from the four Corsican airports.

Pierre-Philippe Ceccaldi, Chairman of CCM Airlines declared: “I am very pleased to integrate these ATR 72-500 aircraft into our fleet, that will provide our customers with a higher level of service on board and particularly in terms of comfort. This new contract evidences our satisfaction in the day-to-day operations with ATR aircraft and demonstrates our willingness to build further upon our 15-year experience with ATR.”

The six aircraft are scheduled to be delivered starting in late 2005 through mid-2007. The 70-seat ATR 72-500 aircraft will be equipped with the newest technological innovations in the field of communications and navigation aid tools: Aircraft Communication Addressing & Reporting System (ACARS) and Multi-Purpose Computer (MPC).

Filippo Bagnato, Chief Executive Officer of ATR, declared: “This new mark of confidence from CCM Airlines proves once again the high quality of our products. Benefiting from a fuel efficient technology and continued technical improvements, the ATR remains the Short Haul Solution for today’s airlines.”

Since the beginning of the programme, ATR has sold 736 aircraft (391 ATR 42s and 345 ATR 72s) and 48 from January 1st, 2005 onwards.

Filippo Bagnato also added: ”With this order, plus other contracts to be announced during the Paris Air Show, ATR will log over 50 new aircraft sales in the first half of 2005. This commercial success is strong evidence of the important role that the turboprop aircraft continues to play in the regional aviation market.”
