Year 2001 confirms EADS CASA as a world leader in military transport aircraft, maritime patrol system integrator and MRTT/VIP aircraft supplier.

EADS CASA is responsible inside EADS, the second aerospace company in the world, for the light and medium transport aircraft business. EADS produces the CASA C-212, CASA CN-235, and CASA C-295, and leads the future A400M heavy military transport aircraft program, managed by Airbus Military Company and in which EADS has a major stake.
The last order of nine (9) C-295 by the Spanish Airforce and the selection by the Swiss Airforce for two (2) aircraft reinforce the position of EADS-CASA against competitors.
CASA has been designing and manufacturing light and medium military transport aircraft for over 30 years and it is recognized as the top specialist in transport aircraft systems, and leader in its category with over 600 aircraft flying worldwide.
More innovative is the selection of the EADS CASA FITS (Full Integrated Tactical System) as the winner in the last two programs awarded in the world for MP (Maritime Patrol) system integration in Spain, on a P-3 platform, and in the United Arab Emirates, on the successful C-295.
Nowadays EADS CASA has become a major name in the sophisticated MP software applications. The FITS system is a proven, reliable, cost efficient application in a market were others, can only offer paper solutions. The FITS can be seen at the Paris Air Show in Le Bourget on a C-295.
Additionally, EADS-CASA is the alternative to Boeing in the fast growing market of derivative aircraft of commercial jets. FADSCASA offers solutions for Tankers, MRTT and VIP aircraft based in Airbus products. Two VIP aircraft are already sold to the Spanish Airforce and some additional sales of MRTT is expected to be announced soon.
In fact, it represents an excellent improvement of EADS CASA position over Le Bourget 1999 in three major markets that certainly will set up the foundations of a strong growth in the years to come.
The 44th "Salon International de l'Aéronautique et de l'Espace", to be held at Le Bourget, Paris from 16 th to 24 th of June 2001, is the most important event for the aerospace industry this year. It is also the first appearance of EADS at this most traditional air show.
EADS CASA will be presenting its latest developments and products at our Pavilion (No 28) and Stand in Hall 2A, Stand No 18 and also at the open air display area.
EADS was formed on July 10, 2000 following the merger of Aerospatiale Matra of France, Daimler Chrysler from Germany and Construcciones Aeronáuticas from Spain. EADS is the third largest aerospace company in the world. It has approximately 100.000 employees.
