Mako MoUs signed at the Paris Air Show: Five International Suppliers Join In For the Advanced Trainer/Light Combat Aircraft FamilyParis, 01 June 2001 The Mako program, jointly pursued by EADS Military Aircraft and the U.A.E. Air Force and Air Defence, is gaining more momentum. At the 44th International Aerosalon at Paris/Le Bourget, five major international suppliers have signed MoUs with EADS and the U.A.E. to actively support the progress of the Mako family. These companies are (in alphabetical order): APPH Precision Hydraulics (UK), offering the landing gear and hydraulics systems BAE SYSTEMS Controls (UK/USA), bidding for flight control computers, flight control system actuation, and for the utility control system BGT / Diehl (Germany), would like to supply flight control computers, mission computers and participation in weapons and self-defence systems as well as training aids FHL [Fairey Hydraulics Ltd.] (UK) would participate in flight control system actuation SNECMA Group (F) offers the M88-2 engine, landing gear (Messier Dowty), gear box (Hispano Suiza), APU/starting systems (Microturbo), and other equipment from the Group's portfolio (e.g., brakes, wheels, wiring, filter systems). At this year's IDEX in Abu Dhabi those companies had already signed MoUs as potential Mako suppliers: Computing Devices (UK) for mission computer, displays & controls, and stores control system Eurojet /MTU (Germany) for the EJ200 engine General Electric (USA) for the GE 414 engine Honeywell (USA) for the environmental control system, external lighting, life-support system, navigation, hydraulics, and secondary power system.
