Information on REACH
REACH is a new European Union regulation (n° 1907/2006) concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and restriction of chemicals substances which came into force on 1st June 2007. It establishes in Europe a new framework for the management of chemical substances in order to ensure a high level protection of the human health and of the environment.
This regulation targets chemical substances either on their own, or contained in preparations or in manufactured articles. Suppliers, as manufacturers, importers or users of such substances, must take into account REACH to comply with the European Union laws.
In order for Suppliers and EADS to ensure full compliance of their products through their life cycle, REACH shall be properly managed accross the supply chain. At first, it requires the mandatory Registration of REACH chemical substances within the European Chemicals Agency.
